Description
xLisa See writes historical fiction exploring women's lives, friendship and Chinese cultural history.
In Ming-dynasty China, Tan Yunxian learns medicine from her grandmother in a world that sharply limits women's choices. Marriage threatens to separate her from that knowledge and from the women who support her. Inspired by a historical physician, the novel follows her effort to use her skills within—and beyond—the restrictions surrounding her.
