Never Found The Best Book? Here Are A Few Ideas On How To Find Your New Favourite Book!
Okay, we’ve all been there. We just can’t seem to find a book that fits the bill. One that we want to read right away, and that hasn’t let us down by the second or third chapter. It’s easy to feel like you’re never going to find anything good, because let’s face it, there are thousands of books once you get past the first page of results from Google. Am I right?
- Try something you normally wouldn't read
We all have our favourite genres and authors. However, next time you are at a bookstore, try to look at other sections that you normally would walk past by. Do you enjoy reading classics? Give sci-fi and fantasy books a try, and vice versa.
- Why aren't you checking out the award lists?!
I am totally aware that it may seem like every book that's out there has probably received some sort of an award but if you really start looking at specific award lists, you will notice that there are some quality titles that received awards. The award lists that I recommend you to check are: Man Booker Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the Goodreads Choice Awards.
- Ask your friends
There is a reason why you are close to your friends. Its because you have so much in common and you understand each other. Have you asked any of your friends what book they are reading and if they suggest you to read that book? If not, text them today on Whatsapp and ask what they are reading.
